Epivone Could Open the Door to Vetiver-scented Consumer Products, Sustainable Terpenes

The essence of vetiver-that note prized among fine fragrance perfumers-may become more widely applied if San Diego-based Allylix has anything to do with it. The specialty chemicals company has patented a terpene called Epivone, or epi-β-vetivone, which is structurally related to β-vetivone, a key fragrance component of vetiver oil. Allylix believes its Epivone production could make vetiver scents affordable for many consumer product categories.
