This 9-year-old girl was involved in an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) accident. The patient was on an ATV vehicle which rear-ended another ATV vehicle. The girl's ATV vehicle then rolled over and threw her off of the vehicle. The patient was not wearing a helmet at the time, and the parents denied loss of consciousness at the scene. However, the patient complained of headache and left arm pain immediately afterward. The patient was brought to our emergency room where she was stable. However, a computed tomography (CT) study of the brain revealed the presence of an epidural hematoma (Fig. 1A). Obviously, this finding is important, but at another level of the study, another significant finding was seen (Fig. IB). Do you see the significant finding?
