Pneumothorax is one of the major complications in premature infants suffering from pulmonary hypoplasia, respiratory distress syndrome (RDS), meconium aspiration syndrome, and in neo-nates requiring resuscitation at birth.~1-3 It occurs most frequently in the neonatal period at a reported incidence rate of l-2%.
