Lawson Wilkins, MD, 1894-1963: A Founding Father of Pediatric Endocrinology

Many younger pediatric endocrinologists have heard of Wilkins primarily from the name of the North American professional society, although following its renaming to the Pediatric Endocrine Society several years ago, there is even less familiarity with the man who was instrumental in establishing our profession. We recently participated in the production of a memoir of Lawson Wilkins written by his daughter Betsy McMaster and Claude Migeon, one of his proteges.
