摘要

Altitudinal and seasonal occurrences of carabid beetles on Mt. Kurobi, northern Kanto, Japan were studied by baited pitfall trapping. Individual abundance, the number of species and species diversity decreased with increasing altitude. Canonical correspondence analysis and cluster analysis based on carabid species' composition at all stations coincided with that of the vegetation. Distribution of ground beetles strongly depended on altitude and soil temperature by canonical correspondence analysis.
