This article is a brief summary regarding nickel (Ni) and the present state of knowledge regarding Ni's roles in pecan tree physiology and subsequent relevance to pecan production enterprises. New Ni fertilizer products are appearing in the agri-chemicals marketplace; as a result, the introduction of this new technology can trigger confusion among growers and Extension specialists as to the relevance, role and usage of Ni products.
