Late-season nut pests can pose management dilemma

Although we are only half way through the season it is time to plan for some late season pest management activities. For those producers that sustained damage from the early spring freeze, management or the decision to manage late season pests could be difficult. These producers will have to take a close look at their crop, their investment to date and the return for late season management activities. During August, September and even into October the three main nut pests that will have to be considered are: hickory shuckworm, pecan weevil and the stink bug complex.
