It is hard to believe that it is almost that time of year when producers across Texas and other states will need to start focusing their attention on a new season. Fortunately a good portion of Texas has received significant winter rainsso at least we are off to a good start moisture wise.Every year is different and I hate to reminisce about 2011, but last year was an excellent example of the importance of using PNC pheromone traps. With last year's above average spring temperatures, the arrival of first generation PNC was extremely early in some areas. Fortunately, those producers that were running PNC traps were alerted to the earliness and were able to make timely treatments and escape any significant loss.
