While it's relatively easy for us to track down feature cars at shows, some more active machines lurk further afield, but luckily roving reporter, Jon Cass, has got a fine eye for this rarer species... Many cars we come across at PVW have been developed over a long period of time, but few can claim to have constantly evolved over 21 years with the same owner. Vini Dobson's 1980 Mk1 Golf GTI is something of a legend on the VW forums and quite rightly so. This is partly thanks to its unique appearance and specification but also thanks to Vini's no compromise approach to racing. "Study the rule book carefully then exploit it to the max," is his refreshing attitude, and it's certainly paid off.
