DuPont-Toray Partners on Thermoplastic Composites

Japan's DuPont-Toray Co. Ltd., will license a process to manufacture thermoplastic composites based on a composite infrared welding technology developed by Kubota Research Associates Inc. The method is based on Kubota's P-Wave process, which melt farms-the plastic without degrading the high-tenacity fiber. P-Wave uses near infrared radiation to 'manufacture crack-resistant thermoplastic composites with excellent productivity.
