Why would anyone want to put a C20LET Vauxhall engine in a 3-dr Sierra? And more importantly, why would we want to feature it? Read on... Well, considering we're already pushing our luck this month by featuring a Nissan-powered Escort on the front cover, plus an entire feature on non-Ford engines, we thought we might as well go the whole hog with a C20LET-powered RS500 replica. As our esteemed chairman once said: "If you're gonna be a bear, then be a grizzly." So here it is. We know it's 'wrong', we know that putting a Vauxhall engine in a Ford is a sin and we know that some people would sooner chop their arms and legs off with a rusty chainsaw than have anything other than a Cossie YB under the bonnet. But please, just relax and trust us on this one, because while we have no intention of making a habit of featuring cars with non-Ford engines in them, the simple fact of the matter is that someone has done it, and we want to know why.
