I've finally managed to find the time to get my rather clever new fuel cell mounted, running and tested since my last installment. Pro Alloy and Aeromotive were brought together - largely by my pestering - to come up with something special, and they didn't disappoint! The new fuel cell mounts just behind the passenger seat on a custom base especially designed and fabricated to fit the contours of both the fuel cell and my XR's rear bench with the most sublime of tailoring; getting as much weight inside the axle to help improve the car's handling and cross-weight at the same time, It also means that, combined with my PTFE-lined Camauto fuel hoses, my fuel system is now technically sealed (apart from an underfloor breather) from front to back, As anyone else out there running standard braided lines for this purpose will testify, the hoses can weep; not enough to cause concern, but enough to constantly fill the car with the smell normally associated with your local BP forecourt.
