The need for realistic graphical solutions before implementation in today's aircraft ramp-planning process is becoming one of the most crucial steps of an airport's overall design cycle. An important factor is the range of new types of aircraft entering the industry, such as the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the Airbus A350 and the Airbus A380. Airports are already planning for such changes and have realised that solutions must be presented before the aircraft can be accommodated.
