摘要

In this edition of Pediatric Blood & Cancer, Nathan et al., representing the core of recognized thought leaders in pediatric cancer survivorship care and research, provide survey data which demonstrate a significant deficit in educational and training resources and requirements for pediatric hematology-oncology training programs. While there may be considerable limitations in the interpretation of survey-derived data, wherein only 80% of approved programs responded to the survey, important observations are made. These warrant the attention of training program directors as well as the leadership of organizations charged with certification of practitioners on the basis of subspecialty competency and agencies responsible for training program accreditation.
