The demand for food consumption in Southeast Asia is changing as income, population and other socio-economic characters change. Virtually all of the population increases will take place in developing countries, and much of it in the urban areas. The rapid urbanization of developing Southeast Asia and associated changes in lifestyles will have profound effects on food preferences and hence on demand.
