The pecan nut casebearer, Acrobasis nuxvorella (Neunzig), is a significant pest of the pecan nut industry. Two alternative syntheses of (9E.11Z)-hexadeca-9,11-dienal, the sex pheromone of the pecan nut casebearer, are described.
