Operator Driven Reliability (ODR) can reduce costly downtime in large production industries. Essentially a maintenance management tool, ODR combines people, processes and technology in a manner that gives increased production and decreased maintenance costs. Based on operator involvement and cross-functional teamwork, the investments required are limited and results come quickly. One example is Stora Enso's pulp and paper mill in Varkaus, Finland.
