Obituary - Barry Watson (Age 95)

It is with great sadness that I have to relate the passing of one of the grand old gentlemen of the Paper Industry - Barry Watson. I first met Barry as a young postgraduate at UMIST when I showed him around the paper department during the inaugural visit by the British Association of Paper Historians. Since then I have been an occasional correspondent for almost three decades; mainly to thank him when he would invariably answer my many queries about weird and wonderful papermaking practices.
