A letter from India

摘要

While wandering in search of solutions to the crisis of raw material availability for the pulp and paper industries in India in the last few reports, we have just come across an imminent exigency for implementing the Charter of Environmental Protection, enforced recently by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). Water in the River Ganges, the longest one in India (2500km) flowing from the Himalayas (Gangotri) to the Bay of Bengal (Diamond Harbour in West Bengal), has become highly polluted.
