Smith Anderson opens beverage carton recycling plant at Fettykil Mill

The UK's first recycling plant for beverage cartons was officially opened on 1 July at the Fettykil Mill of Smith Anderson,by Elliot Morley MP,Minister of State for Environment and Agri-Environment.The plant has the capacity to recycle over 20% of the milk and juice cartons sold on the 65,000 tpy markets of the UK and Ireland-a rich source of high quality fibre,since liquid carton board is made from Scandinavian spruce and pine,long fibred pulpwoods which impart strength and stiffness.
