Iggesund Workington reduces downtime on wapping machine

Iggesund Workington has eliminated wastage and maintenance downtime by installing hysteresis brakes on a large shrink-wrapping machine which handles 3-tonne rolls, some 1.8m in diameter, and 2.3m wide. The non-contact EBU brakes - supplied by ZF Great Britain - are integrated into a PLC based system, which enables the mill to control the levels of tension at 11 stages of the wrapping process.
