One new inorganic-organic hybrid polyoxometalate [(NH _3C _6H _4) _2SO _2] _2SiMo _(12)O _40·2CH _3CN·CH _3OH·2H _2O: Synthesis, crystal structure, and luminescent properties

A new polyoxometalate-based inorganic-organic hybrid compound [(NH _3C _6H _4) _2SO _2] _2SiMo _(12)O _(40)·2CH _3CN· CH _3OH·2H _2O has been synthesized and characterized by IR, UV, elemental analysis, and X-ray crystallography. [(NH _3C _6H _4) _2SO _2] _(2+) cation balances the charge on the α-Keggin [SiMo _(12)O _(40)] ~(4-) anion. The cooperativity of intermolecular N-H?N, N-H?O, O-H?N and C-H?O hydrogen bonds link the subunits together to form a three-dimensional supramolecular framework. The luminescent properties of the title compound at room temperature were investigated.
