Synthesis, spectroscopic studies and antimicrobial activities of Eu(III), Dy(III) and Tm(III) heterochelates with 2,2 '-bipyridylamine plus catechol

The preparation, characterization and spectroscopic study of heterochelates of Eu(III), Dy(III) and Tm(III) + 2,2'-bipyridylamine (A) + catechol(H2L) have been studied using analytical methods. Their compositions and structures have been proposed on the basis of elemental analyses, magnetic properties, thermogravimetric and infrared spectral studies. An attempt has also been made to study their antimicrobial and antifungal activity. [References: 26]
