Mixed-ligand complexes of lanthanide ions with 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-benzoylpyrazolone-5 and some oxodonors

Solid complexes of lanthanide ions with 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-benzoyl-pyrazolone-5 (HPMBP) and diphenylsulphoxide (DPSO), dioctyl sulphoxide (DOSO) and tributyl phosphate (TBP) have been isolated by solvent extraction. Analytical data and H-1 NMR spectra establish their stoichiometry as [Ln(PMBP)(2)NO3X2] where X is the oxo donor. The LR spectra of these complexes indicate that the S-O and P-O stretching frequencies have been shifted to lower frequency with respect to the neat ligands confirming bonding by oxygen.
