摘要

A diiron(III) complex, [Fe_2(IDB)_2(#mu#-O)(#mu#-OAc)_2]Cl_2.CH_3OH, inwhich 1DB is N,N-di(2-benzimidazolylmethyl)imine, hasbeen characterized by single-crystal X-raydiffractometry and spectrometry. The compoundcrystallizes in the space group C2/C witha=23.700(5),b=20.690 (5), c= 17.721(9) A, #beta#= 111.19(4)0, V =8101.7(7)A~3 Z = 8 and is solved for 3120 reflectionswith I> 4.0#sigma#(I), giving final R = 0.09840 and R_w= 0.11914. The two iron(III) atoms of the binuclear unitare bridged by one oxo atom and two acetate groups,affording a diiron core with a Fe-O-Fe angle of116.8(6)deg and Fe-Fe distance of 3.118 A. Each ironatom is bound to a facially coordinating tridentateligand IDB with the aliphatic nitrogen donor situatedtrans to the #mu#-oxo atom and in a distorted octahedralgeometry. The structural data, electronic absorption,infrared and Raman spectra of the compound are verysimilar to those of other compounds containing the[Fe_2(#mu#-O)(#mu#-RCO_2)_2]~(2+) core.
