摘要

A new dipeptide Schiff base obtained by thecondensation of DL-alanyl-DL-alanine with o-vanillinwas synthesized and characterized by ~1H NMRspectroscopy. Cu (II), Zn(II), Ni(II) and Co(II)complexes were obtained with the dipeptide Schiff base.The COO stretching bands in the IR spectra suggest thatcarboxylate acts as a monodentate group when bindingwith metal The ligand is coordinated to the centralmetal as tetradenrate ligand. The bonding sites are thecarboxylate oxygen, imino nitrogen, amide nitrogen and phenolic oxygen.
