Stepan plans new surfactant intermediates plant in US

SPECIALITY chemicals producer Stepan Company is planning to build a plant in Ascension Parish, Louisiana, US, with an investment of around $70-mn. The company said it will soon complete the front-end engineering and design (FEED) work for the proposed project, and will make a final investment decision in mid-2015. Work on the project is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2015.
