Labor Talks Break Off at Miramichi Paper Mill

Negotiations aimed at ending a six month strike at UPM's Miramichi paper mill broke off at the end of June without a settlement.Max Michaud,Atlantic Region vice president of the Communications,Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada(CEP),said negotiations ended because the company refused to table the Eastern Canada pattern settlement for the pulp and paper industry.
