Screening the new process concepts for pulp mill retrofits with varying capacity constraints

This study presents a new methodology for screening the potential of new pulp mill concepts as part of retrofits, and gives a generic method for describing different capacity constraints or bottlenecks. These constraints are considered in order to illustrate the potential of new concepts applied in different kinds of pulp mills. The presented methodology combines the generality of theoretical reference mills and the specific details of case studies.
