MOST of the reactions in living organisms are catalyzed by protein molecules called enzymes or biocatalysts similar to chemical catalysts in the manner that they alter the speed of a biochemical reaction without taking part in it. While providing biological solutions in human and animal health, they can also act as eco-friendly catalysts in industrial and environmental products. They have high molecular weight ranging from 10,000 to 2,000,000 and have compounds made up principally of chains of amino acids linked together by peptide bonds. Enzymes can be denatured and precipitated with salts, solvents and other reagents.
