THE year 2009 has shown mixed results for chemical industry all over the world.While chemical industry across the world is inevitably progressing, the fact remains that number of operating chemical units suspended the operations or closed the units permanently during 2009. Many mergers and acquisitions have taken place with some companies in desperate hurry to find buyers. Even the well known and established organizations like BASF, Dow, Lyondell have not been exception to this scenario, as they have also closed number of units.
