The First Choristoderes (Diapsida, Choristodera) from the Paleogene of Asia

Fragmentary remains of a choristodere cf. Simoedosaurus sp. (teeth and postcranial bones) from the Upper Paleocene-Early Eocene of southern Kazakhstan (Dzhylga 1a and Dzhylga 1b localities) are described. This is the first record of this group from the Paleogene of Asia and one of few choristodere records from coastal beds.
