Car parks are robust structures, but they still require plenty of care and attention, says Concrete Repairs' Bob Berry. Multi-storey car parks are an integral and increasingly important factor in UK infrastructure. Indeed, many businesses and shopping complexes would not be able to function without them, says Bob Berry, senior business manager at concrete repair company Concrete Repairs (CRL). "This has created a growing need for car park operators and owners to regularly inspect, maintain and develop their parking facilities," Berry says. "Multistorey car parks (MSCPs) suffer from concrete deterioration, structural defects and safety shortcomings due to poor design, construction and low standards of maintenance and repair. Most problems are caused by corrosion of the concrete reinforcement."
