An inspiring competition

The British Parking Awards highlight best practice, innovation and passion. The British Parking Awards offer a chance to recognise and reward the innovators, dedicated workers and unsung heroes working in the UK parking industry. The competition also shines a spotlight on the car park, a building type usually overlooked at architectural and design awards. Above all else, the awards reveal how passionate the entrants are about providing good parking. The annual competition, organised by Parking Review magazine, recognises best practice across both on-street and off-street parking, across both the public and private sectors, often working in partnership. The aims of the competition are supported by the British Parking Association, which sponsors the Lifetime Achievement Award, to be presented on the day. This year the long list has been whittled down to a short list of around 55 finalists, which have been the subject of much debate and discussion by the panel of judges. Many follow-up questions have been posed to entrants, references have been checked and, in the case of the building categories, car parks have been visited despite often perilous winter weather conditions.
