PRODUCT SAFETY AND NEW EUROPEAN DIRECTIVE

摘要

At present the legal obligations in France relating to consumer safety in particular are regulated by two major pieces of legislation, one European (Directive 76/768 EEC, as amended), the other national (French decree 2000-569 of June23rd, 2000 in combination with Section R 5131 -2 and 3 of the Public Health Code). The European directive is currently undergoing a major overhaul, the European Commission having decided to simplify it in the form of a recast as part of its strategy for the simplification of the regulatory environment.
