Camden's car pound office has undergone a dramatic transformation from a cramped and chaotic unit to a model workplace. WORKING CONDITIONS at Camden's car pound used to be less than ideal. In fact, by all accounts they were truly horrendous. Staff had to work in portacabins that were often freezing in the winter and unbearably stuffy in the summer. Vehicle pound manager Fares Fawz recalls some testing times at the pound. "It used to get so hot in the summer, and it was so cramped, that it created tension," he says. "You'd get staff arguing over trivial matters. I had to spend time resolving these disputes rather than getting on with my job."
