L'Oreal's first entirely green factory

The L'Oreal group has recently opened its first ever factory to run entirely on green energy, with no CO2 emissions at all. Located in Libramont (Belgium), the factory sources biomass from local farms and waste from various local agro-food industries, which it ferments to produce methane. This gas is then converted to electricity and thermal energy - the factory produces more than enough electricity to meet its needs (25,600 MWh/year, enough to power 4,000 homes), while the thermal energy it produces covers 80% of its requirements.
