Locating and paying for parking will become seamless with convergence between parking payment applications and systems installed in cars, says a report from Frost & Sullivan. People looking for parking spaces can currently use their in-car satellite navigation systems or map functions on smart phones. Once they have found a parking space, they can increasingly opt to pay for their stay using either cash or one of a growing range of cashless modes, including: credit/debit cards at terminals; pay-by-phone; AN PR pay-by-plate; near field communication (NFC); smart cards; and RFID tags.
