DR. IMRAN ALI SIDDIQUI (2nd April, 1972 - 7th August, 2006)

Dr. Imran died of viral infection on 7ht August, 2006 at Liaquat National Hospital, Karachi after a short illness. May Allah Almighty bless his soul through his infinite mercy with eternal peace and give courage to members of his family and friends tobear this irreparable loss, Amen. Dr. Imran Ali Siddiqui s/o Mr. Mohammad Ali Siddiqi was borne on 2nd April, 1972 in Karachi. He received his M. Sc. degree in Botany from the University of Karachi in 1996 in First Division. He was awarded the degree ofPh. D. from the University of Karachi in 2002 for his work on the "Use of growth promoting bacteria in the control of root-knot nematode and root-infecting fungi of crop plants" under the supervision of Dr. Syed Ehtesham-ul-Haq. He went to UK for post doctoral studies under the British Council Fellowship programme. He worked with Dr. Brian Kerry at Roth Amsted Research Experimental Station, Harpenden, UK from March 2004 - Feb 2005 on the "Biological control of plant parasitic nematodes using selected isolates of Pseudomonas chlamydosporium.
