Refineries process 2.3% less crude oil in Aug

DOMESTIC refiners processed 2.3 per less of crude oil in August year-on-year. This was mainly because someof the refineries had shut down during the month under review for maintenance. According to the data released by the Petroleum & Natural Gas Ministry, the refiners processed 13.51 million tonnes (mt) of crude in August against 13.82 mt same month last year. The refineries achieved a capacity utilisation of 102.3 per cent in August.
