April 2,1877 Carl L.Alsberg,a researcher in the chemistry of food,was born.April 5,1827 Joseph Lister,who introduced antiseptics,such as carbolic acid(phenol),was born.April 6,1927 Edmond H.Fischer,a researcher on protein phosphorylation as a biological regulatory mechanism,was bom.In 1992,he shared the Nobel Prize in Medicine with Edwin G.Krebs for their discoveries concerning reversible protein phosphorylation as a biological,regulatory mechanism.
