Use of electromagnetic rotating-field stirrers in a continuous caster

All six strands of a continuous billet caster have been fitted with rotating-field stirrers beneath themoulds. A great improvement in internal quality has thereby been achieved, particularly for high-carbon steels. This measure has made it possible to significantly increase the share of quality steelproduction.
