Innovations in materials are only successful, if they meet the market demands and if they consider the wishes and needs of the customers. ThyssenKrupp Stahl AG has created the necessary pre-conditions to satisfy these market demands. These are formulated below as guidelines of a product-related material and process development and are examined in detail. The main aspects are the close connection between process technology and the material properties, the early awareness of the eventual end-product and the realization of a suitable development structure.
