Another television production company ventures north

A new angle in fishing shows? Given the immense success of the Discovery Channel's series on crab fishermen in the Bering Sea, it is not surprising that other production companies are jumping on board. This summer, a small crew from the History Channel took a look at the pollock fishery in the Bering Sea, filming on board the factory trawler Golden Alaska. Rather than highlighting personalities, however, the History Channel is reportedly focusing on how the fish are caught, what fishing technology is available today, and how fish are brought to market. The show on pollock is expected to air next spring and may serve as a pilot for a series on fisheries around the world.
