But who's counting? The Port of Dutch Harbor has to give up some of its bragging rights, but not all of them. For more than two decades, Unalaska has proudly called itself home to America's most productive fishing port. It hasn't processed fewer thanhalf a billion pounds of seafood annually since 1989. With the pollock quota at a high level in 2011, the port was poised to claim the title for the 23rd year in a row. Except: "This is the 15th year that Dutch Harbor was the top port for volume," corrects Julie Speegle, a spokesperson for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. "I guess last year was the 22nd."
