Great price for crabbers: In early June, Oregon Dungeness crabbers reported stretching the season out and going the distance to fill their holds. Prices were strong late in the season, said Warrenton-based crabber Brian Petersen. Prices got up to as high as $5 a pound in Westport, but seemed to soften a bit later because of more crab from Canada and Alaska on the market. "When you see $5 ex-vessel prices, that's worth fishing a little longer for," Petersen said.
