And as awareness spikes, law enforcers are increasingly being joined by environmental agencies when they raid grow sites.Officials from the state's Department of Fish and Wildlife and Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire) this year have formed a partnership with law enforcers, accompanying them on marijuana grow raids.Many have been done in Humboldt County, the epicenter of the region's marijuana economy, in collaboration with the Sheriff's Office's Drug Task Force.
