The world cannot do without packaging, but packaging can be used more effectively and efficiently to meet people's needs while being more environmentally sustainable. So says the World Packaging Organisation's general secretary Dr Carl Olsmats. "A sustainable society is a key challenge for all of us on planet earth," he tells Packaging Magazine. "In this context, the packaging sector must support sustainable development for society as a whole.
