But 99 percent of all businesses in Japan are actually small and medium-sized enterprises. It is no exaggeration to say that these businesses form the basis of Japan, the economic powerhouse. Although signs of gradual recovery have appeared since the collapse of the "bubble economy," the Japanese economy's future remains uncertain.
