Carbon Tetrachloride

摘要

Charge a solution of carbon disulphide in carbon tetrachloride into lead-lined chiorinator fitted with cooling coils.Add iron borings or powder as a catalyst, bubble chlorine through the solutionat 25-30°C and maintain at 30°C by cooling water. Use excess of chlorine to ensure complete conversion of carbon disulphide.
